I never intended to have a newsletter.

My followers told me they wanted one. And, as a savvy content writer—who’s listened to over 185 hours of digital marketing podcasts, videos, and presentations in 2019—I know that when people ask for it, it’s your duty to make it.

I know why people are asking.

As a content writer there is a lot of advice available online. And, also as a content writer—we’re part of the problem as to the saturation of the internet.

Everyone wants to write an article on how to be a content writer because they can see that it’s a trending Google search. That doesn’t mean that everybody should write this article.

Why?

Because it leads to a lot of arbitrary advice. Stuff like, “work with low paying clients first” or “grow your portfolio”. What does that even mean?

Unless you’re going to say exactly what a low paying client is (<$20/article) or how to grow your portfolio (use entrepreneurial Facebook groups)—these articles aren’t actually telling you anything.

They’re just using you to make their content appear higher in the search results (don’t get it?—you’ll learn all about this in my newsletter).

My goal as a content writer for my clients (SaaS companies and education platforms) is to only create useful content. Content that makes their customer avatar walk away saying, “Wow, those people really know their stuff. What else can they teach me?”.

I have that same goal for this email newsletter.

Every month, you’ll get data driven, tried and tested, real-time knowledge on content writing. If you follow me on Medium, you’ve seen my articles that give my word-for-word elevator pitch:

Or, you’ve seen why I’m warning content writers about the inevitable AI takeover.

This newsletter is for the serious content writers (aspiring or experienced) who don’t have the time to keep up with the always changing digital marketing landscape. That’s why you have me.

As a digital marketing nerd 🤓, I live in this world every day. I’ll tell you what to watch out for (like what AI writing companies are getting traction), what content is working well right now (image-rich with lots of structure), and how to make your content SEO and human friendly.

If this sounds like something that could change your career, or even give you article ideas for your Medium account, then you can sign up below to get the monthly newsletter.

Outsource your digital marketing education needs so you can focus on your writing.

Because that’s what is going to grow your career.

And I’m excited to be able to help.
